Scuba Gear, Dive, and Equipment.
Scuba
diving is a practice that is as old as man himself, although it has
obviously evolved since its inception. It has been said that the first
civilizations would dive into the waters for food as well as for pleasure.
Even though these divers had spears and other primitive equipment, this
equipment obviously is quite different from the scuba gear that is used
today.
One of the most important pieces of scuba gear for modern-day divers
that primitive divers did not have is a scuba mask. A good mask allows
a person to get a good view of the fish or coral under the water without
letting water inside of it.
Before a person can become a certified scuba diver, he or she must be
able to show that he or she knows how to empty his mask of water while
under the water. This is an intricate process that involves the correlation
of quick movement of hands with proper breathing techniques. This is
especially important to know how to do for those who dive in the ocean
where the water is salty and does not allow divers to see through.
While masks are an important piece of diving equipment, there are other
items that are equally important. For example, an air tank is the one
thing that any diver needs to know how to use. People must know how
to use this piece of diving gear before they take their first dive.
While this dive equipment can be a life-saver, it is also dangerous
to those people who do not use it properly.
One of the things that divers are warned of is to not ascend from deep
under water too quickly. A too-quick ascension can result in a diver’s
lungs being damaged due to the pressure that they receive under water.
Even if the air tank does not work for some reason, divers are taught
to not panic and make their way to the top efficiently, but not so quick
that it will damage their lungs.
Because there are many pieces of dive gear that divers use, it is important
to have a method to keep track of their diving equipment. Many divers
will choose to pack their dive bag in the same order and in the same
way each time they pack. By having a set spot for each piece of equipment
and by doing things in a certain order, the diver is better able to
keep track of the equipment he owns. This is especially important when
diving with others from a boat where there might be a lot of different
pieces of equipment strewn about.
Although a diver must take a dive class to be certified as a scuba diver,
this does not necessarily mean that a person needs to live near the
ocean to get his or her certification. In fact, most divers (even those
who live near oceans) take dive classes in pools. Once a diver is able
to understand all of the tips and tricks that must be known to be a
safe scuba diver, he or she can move to rivers or oceans
